I particularly like doing Mardi Gras decorations because as you know I am from Lousiana and we sure know how to party when it comes to Mardi Gras. Did you know that the state of Louisiana is the only state that makes Mardi Gras a holiday!

Supplies

Centerpiece Instructions

Step 1: Start with a wood base and spray some foam in the middle and let sit.

Step 2: Next, fluff out your greenery swag base and lay it on top of your foam base using a upin stem. Add glue to the upin stem and push down into foam.

Step 3: Cut your green tinsel spray into little picks. Then place hot glue on the bottom of the stems and push into the base of the foam. Add all around the greenery spray. Add one piece right down in the center of the centerpiece. This allows you to add height.

Step 4: Using Mardi Gras picks with colorful beads add to the base and don’t be shy. Placing these around the sides. Finishing them off with one near the center.

Step 5: With the Mardi Gras Pick Spray separate the pick into sections. Allow you to work with just the colorful leaves add them in to the bottom right. Now grab the bead section of the spay wrap them around your finger allowing them to curl up. Place in the right side as well.

Step 6: Repeat this step doing the same thing to the left side of the centerpiece.

Step 7: Make and add a bow. Make two loops and add to the center of the centerpiece. Next, take your ribbon tails and tuck them into the centerpiece, and secure using your evergreen pine branches and secure. Dovetail the ends.

Step 8: Add jester hat pick. Place glue on the stem and place it right in the center of the Mardi Gras Centerpiece

Step 9: Thread a pipecleaner through the ring on the ornament and weave it through your branches of the evergreen. This will secure it to the centerpiece. Add another one on the other side to balance it out.

Step 10: Add in Gold Fluer Pick to greenery.

Step 11: Place a stem into a foam ornament and let cool. Then place in an empty section.

Step 12: Add a gold glittery boxwood stem around the ribbon to color up any holes you see.

When Do Mardi Gras Decorations Go Up

I find that most put up their Mardi Gras decorations as soon as they take down Christmas. However, you can wait closer to Fat Tuesday and that will be ok too!

How to Decorate With a Mardi Gras Centerpiece

I love using centerpieces not just for table decorations. You can put these Mardi Gras centerpieces on some columns on your porch or even use them as mantle decor. I have even added these to lanterns as swag pieces. There are so many ways to use a centerpiece and I can’t wait to see what you use yours for.

Final Thoughts

Don’t hold back let all your colorful beads and Mardi Gras centerpieces be the highlight of your celebrations. You will enjoy looking back at all the photos from the parties and seeing your beautiful work on the tabletops as decorations.
