Prepare your wreath form, if needed, by inserting pipe cleaners.
Take your 30” mesh strips and create ruffles. Stack one on top of another and offset them (like an “X”). Insert one pair into a pipe cleaner and twist the pipe cleaner to secure it in place.Repeat this process all around the outer ring of the wreath frame. Repeat it again with the green mesh as you make your way around the inner ring of the wreath frame.
Take your 2.5” ribbons and cut out 9 ribbon tails from each ribbon.Stack one ribbon tail on top of the other, fold the stack in half, and insert it into one of the pipe cleaners around the outer part of the frame. Insert one stack into every other pipe cleaner, alternating which ribbon is on top.
Take super glue and add a dot in the middle of the back of the sign. Place a mounting square on top of the glue. Reinforce it with a bit of hot glue around the edges of the super glue.Insert a pipe cleaner into each mounting square. Set the sign aside and let it dry.
Let’s make some funky tails.Take your first 1.5” ribbon and measure a 26” strip. Fold it in half and dovetail the ends. Pinch the ribbon about 4-5 inches below the fold and spread the folded part out into a visible loop.Twist the back tail so that the pretty side faces forward and gently round the tails so they curve away from the wreath. Insert it into one of the "empty" pipe cleaners. Repeat this process until you fill in all the “open” pipe cleaners on top (the inner ring).
Now take your next 1.5” ribbon and make funky tails for the bottom of the wreath (the outer ring).
Take your 2.5” ribbon and make two 7” loops with two 7” tails. Grab a long pipe cleaner and wrap it around the middle of your bow later and twist it tightly.Next, grab a 1.5” ribbon, making the tails 7" and the loops slightly smaller at about 6.5”. Criss-cross this layer. Add it to the pipe cleaner and twist it tightly.Grab your second 2.5” ribbon, make 7" tails and 6" loops. Offset this layer, add it to the pipe cleaner, and give it a good twist. Take your first 2.5” ribbon and make 7” tails with 5.5” loops. Add to the top of your bow, offset this layer, and twist the pipe cleaner.Make another layer with your 1.5” ribbon and repeat the process again, making two 7” tails and two 5” inch loops. Add this layer to the bow, crisscrossing the previous layer, and twist the pipe cleaner tightly. Finally, with your last 2.5” ribbon, make two 7” tails and two 4.5” loops. Add this final layer to the top of your bow, crisscrossing the previous layer, and twist tightly. Now here’s where we make this bow “pop.” Fold the ends of the pipe cleaner around to the bottom of the bow and pull tightly (you may smash your bow, but it’s only temporary!). Then twist the pipe cleaner very tightly by twisting the bow 3-4 times.Fluff out your bow and dovetail any ends you may have missed.Attach your bow (using the pipe cleaner) to the wreath base.
Using the pipe cleaners on the back of the sign, attach the sign to the wreath base.
