This rescue dog wreath is simple to make and can be used for a great cause. Make one of these to promote dog rescue or sell a few to raise both money and awareness.
Take each of the 18 pieces of mesh, scrunch down the center, and add to every wreath tie. This is the ruffle method. Do start at the bottom of the wreath frame and work your way to the top to avoid getting tangled up.
Get your wreath sign, pipe cleaners, and staple gun. Staple a pipe cleaner to each corner on the back of the sign. Add a buffer so that the staple won't go through the sign. Add glue around the staple to reinforce and make sure everything stays. Set aside to dry.
Pull out your EZ Bow Maker and ribbons.
Take your 2.5" ribbon and measure the length of the board (16") for your tail, and make (2) 8" loops on each side.
Next, take your 1.5" ribbon and measure the same length in tail and make 2 loops slightly smaller than the previous on each side.
Then take your next 2.5" ribbon and make same length tail, and a single loop on each side slightly smaller.
Get your next 1.5" ribbon and measure same length tail and a single loop on each side slightly smaller.
Take your other 1.5" ribbon and measure same length tail and a single loop on each side slightly smaller.
Take pipe cleaner and wrap around the center of the bow. Twist nice and tight. Fluff out bow
Get out your ribbon tail board, 2.5" ribbon, and 1.5" ribbon.
Wrap 2.5" ribbon around the ribbon tail board and cut into (18) 14" strips.
Cut ends into dovetails.
Wrap your other 2.5" ribbon around the ribbon tail board and cut into (18) 14" strips.
Cut ends into dovetails.
Wrap 1.5" ribbon around the ribbon tail board and cut into (36) 14" strips.
Layer (2) 1.5" ribbon strips on top of (1) 2.5" ribbon strip, fold in half, scrunch in middle, and add to the wreath ties. Alternate each of the 2.5" ribbon.
Fan out the ribbon tails. and Make sure it all points out to make the wreath look bigger.
Repeat previous 2 steps until you add ribbon tails to each wreath tie on the bottom and then the top ties.
Add sign to wreath frame, right above the ribbon tails.
Then add your bow to your wreath. You can extend your pipe cleaners by twisting another pipe cleaner, so you can reach the wreath frame and tie nice and tight. Add the bow to the top center of your wreath.
Trim all ribbon tails in your bow in to dove tails and then curl tails. You can trim tails of the bow at different lengths.
Take (2) 1.5" ribbon, measure 24-inches, fold it in half, told in half again. Take a 2.5" ribbon, and measure 24-inches. Layer the ribbons on top of each other and add right in to the wreath tie. Trim tails in to dovetails. Make 2 and add to each side of the wreath.
