This wreath is made with beautiful deco mesh in three different colors. The Merry Christmas metal sign is the perfect finishing touch, and we added a poinsettia flower for extra holiday cheer. It's easy to make and looks great on your door or wall!
Yield: 1wreath
Materials
310" deco meshplaid pattern (Y8322D3), burlap & cream (Y83194), faux burlap red & moss green (Y832058)
Take your wreath form and the burlap and cream deco mesh roll. Starting on the inner circle of the form, use the poof technique. Scrunch deco mesh and add to tie, measure 10" for the poof, scrunch and add to next tie. Repeat until you work your way around the inner row. Use scissor to cut deco mesh.
With the next 2 deco mesh rolls, measure out 30" on the cutting mat and use a rotary cutter to cut your strips. You'll need 5- 30" strips of each color.
Then cut 20" ruffles for the inner ring. You'll need 4- 20" strips of each color for the inner ring.
Taking the 20" strips, use the ruffle technique - curl in the ends and scrunch to the center, pinch the center and add to a tie in the inner circle. Use one pattern of deco mesh on every other tie. Take the second pattern of deco mesh and continue doing the ruffle technique and filling in the inner ring.
Taking the 30" strips, use the ruffle technique and follow the same pattern as the inner ring on the outer ring, alternating between the 2 patterns of deco mesh. Continue until you fill in all the ties of the outer ring.
Take the 2.5" open weave cream ribbon, scissors, and ribbon tail board. Using the smaller measurement, wrap the ribbon around 5 times to get 10 ribbon tails. Then use the scissors to cut on each side to have your ribbon tails. Set aside.
Take the 2.5" bells ribbon and repeat the step above. Dove tail each end.
With the 1.5" red plaid ribbon and the red ribbon, repeat the step 6. Dovetail each end.
Pair a 1.5" and a 2.5" ribbon (red with bell ribbon, and red paid with open weave cream ribbon). Set aside.
Take the 4" ribbon and dove tail the end. Take the deco mesh wreath base and leave out a tail, scrunch ribbon and add to tie on outer ring. Make a poof, scrunch and add to next tie and then dove tail the end. Repeat this until you make your way around the outer ring.
Take the ribbon tails (red and bell ribbons), fold in half and scrunch, then add to tie on outer ring. Alternate the ribbon tails (red plaid and open weave cream ribbons) on every other tie on outer ring. Repeat same patter around inner ring.
Take 2 long pipe cleaners and add to the hole on the wreath sign. Thread the pipe cleaners through the deco mesh and attach to the wire base. Twist tight behind the wreath.
Take the greenery picks from the wreath supply box, and fluff them out. Bend some of the leaves towards the bottom so you have room to add your bow in the center.
Take the bell pick and trim the end and add to the greenery. Use a zip tie to keep the layered greenery together. Feel free to trim some of the pine cone if they will be in the way of where the bow will go.
Attach the mini swag you just made with the greenery and add to the opposite side of the wreath sign.
Take the 4" bow and make a bow by hand - 3 loops on each side. Thread a pipe cleaner through the zip tie to attach to wreath on top of the greenery mini swag.
Take poinsettia and trim the stem. Add the flower to the center of the bow.
Take the mini bell pick and use bolt cutters to make 5 separate stems. Fluff and twirls some of the twigs. Use a hot glue gun to attach the picks on the outer rings.
With the snowflake pick, repeat the step above.
Fluff out all the ribbon tails and bow. Now you're all done!
