Instructions
Create the Base Layer of the Bow
Tail Length: Start with a 17-inch tail to give the bow a dramatic look.
Loop Size: Make two 7-inch loops on each side.
Anchor Color: Use a darker ribbon (like purple) for the base to provide a solid foundation.
Secure the ribbon with a pinch and twist for each loop to ensure the bow has shape and volume.
Add the Second Layer
Switch to a lighter or complementary ribbon.
Loop Size: Make one loop on each side, slightly smaller than the base layer (around 6 inches).
Match the 17-inch tail length to maintain consistency.
Slide this layer into the EZ Bow Maker or hold it in place while building the next layer.
Incorporate the Accent Ribbon
Use a pastel rainbow or spring-themed ribbon for this layer.
Loop Size: Create two loops on each side, slightly smaller than the previous layer (5 inches).
Add a shorter tail (around 4 inches) for this top layer to balance the overall design.
Top It Off
Choose a fun, eye-catching ribbon for the final layer (e.g., floral, polka dots).
Make a small “button loop” in the center (4 inches) for a polished look.
Ensure the layers are staggered so each ribbon layer is visible.
Secure the Bow
Use a zip tie to tightly secure all the layers.
Attach a pipe cleaner or garland piece to the back of the bow for added stability and easy attachment to your mailbox.
Dovetail the Ribbon Tails
Fold each ribbon tail in half lengthwise.
Cut diagonally from the folded edge to the open edge to create a professional “V” shape.
This detail adds polish and ensures no tail is left unfinished.
Add Decorative Picks
Layer glitter ferns, pastel spirals, and ball picks for extra flair.
Secure the picks together using a zip tie, then attach them to the back of the bow.
Ensure the picks are evenly distributed and visible above the bow.
Attach the Bow to Your Mailbox
Use the garland or pipe cleaner to tightly wrap the bow around your mailbox.
Adjust the ribbon tails and loops so they cascade beautifully on both sides.
