Spread the love

If you’ve ever walked a craft fair and found yourself pulled toward a booth before even seeing what they sell, it’s likely because of one thing: a demonstration. A well-crafted bow can stop someone in their tracks—and that’s exactly what today’s project is all about, attracting customers at craft shows.

In this tutorial, we’re showing you how to make a simple, eye-catching bow using Sam’s Club ribbon that draws customers in and gets them curious about what you’re selling.

Whether you’re decorating a display, wrapping a product, or adding flair to a sign, this bow will help turn heads and boost your booth’s first impression.

What You’ll Need

You don’t need to use these specific patterns or colors yourself. Any three 2.5″ wired ribbon will work.

Tools

  • Sharp scissors

Supplies

  • 2.5″ Patriotic Red & White Stripe Ribbon – Sam’s Club
  • 2.5″ Denim-Look Blue Ribbon – Sam’s Club
  • 2.5″ Star Print Ribbon – Sam’s Club
  • Zip ties

How to Make the Craft Show Bow

Step 1: Choose Your Ribbon Stack

Select 3 coordinating ribbon styles. For this bow, we used patriotic red-and-white stripes, a denim-look blue, and a fun stars-and-stripes pattern to create a bold, festive theme.

Step 2: Start Looping

Using the first ribbon, make two loops about 6-7 inches wide on each side. Then, repeat with the other two ribbon styles. Alternate the direction of your loops slightly to create fullness.

Step 3: Build the Stack

Layer your loops one on top of the other, adjusting each one so they peek out at different angles. Hold the stack tightly in the center as you build it.

Step 4: Secure with a Zip Tie

Once you’re happy with the shape, wrap a zip tie around the center of your stack and pull tight. Cut off the tail of the zip tie.

Step 5: Fluff and Finish

Fluff each loop and twist them forward so they face outward. Trim the ribbon tails at an angle or dovetail for a clean finish.

Why It Works at Craft Shows

This bow isn’t just pretty—it’s strategic. The bold patterns and textures naturally draw the eye, giving your booth an elevated, cohesive look. It signals to your audience that you care about details, and that translates to perceived value in your products.

Tip: Use these bows on wreath displays, bins, signage, or hanging at the corners of your tent. Place them where the customer’s eyes would naturally go first!

A simple bow might seem small, but when it’s done well—it’s powerful. This $3 bow made with affordable ribbon and zip ties becomes your silent salesperson, helping your work stand out in a sea of handmade booths.
