How to Make a Ladybug Wreath (Step-by-Step)

Step 1: Prep Your Frame

  • Each pipe cleaner will be used to hold a mesh ruffle and ribbon bundle.

Step 2: Cut Your Mesh

  • Cut your 10-inch deco mesh into 20-inch strips.
  • You’ll need about 18-20 pieces to cover your frame nicely.

Step 3: Add Mesh Ruffles

  • Scrunch each piece of mesh in the center to create a “ruffle.”
  • Attach each ruffle to the frame using the pipe cleaners.

Step 4: Create Ribbon Tails

  • Cut your 2.5-inch ladybug ribbon and plaid ribbon into 12–14 inch strips.
  • Dovetail the ends for a clean, finished look.

Step 5: Layer and Attach Ribbon

  • Pair one ladybug ribbon with one plaid ribbon.
  • Pinch them together in the center and add them on top of each mesh ruffle using the pipe cleaners.

Step 6: Add the Ladybug Sign

  • Center your 12-inch metal ladybug sign on the wreath.
  • Use extra pipe cleaners or floral wire to secure it tightly to the frame.

Step 7: Final Fluff

  • Fluff your ribbon tails and adjust your mesh until the wreath looks balanced and full.
