Hey there, fellow makers and business enthusiasts! Parker here, back with episode 6 of our “Navigating Business Challenges” series on the Makers Mean Business Podcast.
Can you believe we’re this far in? I’m psyched to dive into today’s topic: engaging your audience. But before we jump in, let me share a bit about the journey so far.
So, confession time: I haven’t been the most consistent with this podcast. It’s been a rollercoaster of hot and cold, but I’m committed to changing that this season. As I record this, only the first episode of this series has aired, and I’m feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. But hey, I’m grateful for your support and enthusiasm!
Let’s talk about engaging your audience
Throughout this series, I’ve shared some real moments from our business, including some not-so-great ones from February 2024. It’s been therapeutic to share these experiences with you all, and I hope you’ve found value in them too.
Today, I want to focus on four key methods we use to communicate with our community and customers:
- Live Video: Think of it as your virtual stage. Live video allows for real-time interaction, feedback, and connection with your audience. It’s been a game-changer for us and remains a staple in our communication strategy.
- Email: Ah, the classic. Email is a powerful tool for marketing, building trust, and fostering two-way communication. It’s personal, direct, and can make your audience feel heard and valued.
- Text Messages: Yep, you read that right. Texting isn’t just for personal conversations anymore. It’s a fantastic way to reach your audience where they’re at and deliver timely updates, promotions, or even birthday wishes!
- Phone Calls: Old-school? Maybe. Effective? Absolutely. Whether it’s your team reaching out to customers or providing a hotline for inquiries, phone calls offer a personalized touch that goes a long way.
But hey, I get it. Trying to juggle all these methods can be overwhelming. That’s why I want to stress that you don’t have to do it all at once. Start with what feels manageable for you and your business, and go from there.
I’ve included some helpful resources in the show notes, including a link to MailerLite for email marketing and our text number for staying in the loop with podcast updates. Feel free to check them out!

As we wrap up this episode, I want to express my gratitude for your continued support. It’s been a joy sharing these insights with you, and I hope you’ve found them valuable. Next time, we’ll dive into the theme of resilience, because let’s face it: every setback is an opportunity to bounce back stronger.
Your feedback means the world to us! Until next time, keep creating, keep innovating, and keep making those business dreams a reality. Catch you later!
