Hey y’all! In today’s tutorial, I’m walking you through how to make a beautiful moss cross floral arrangement that you can use as a door hanger or wall decor. This project is simple but stunning, and you only need a handful of supplies to pull it all together.

DIY Moss Cross Wreath
This moss cross is perfect for springtime, Easter, or as a meaningful year-round piece. Let me show you how to get started!
Supplies You’ll Need:
- Moss Cross – KG3211
- Boxwood Bush – MTF21094
- Hydrangea Stem – Hobby Lobby 5005012
- Ranunculus Bush – Hobby Lobby
- Fern Bush (x2) – Michaels 10762214
- Clematis Leaf Stem (x2) – Michaels 10763379
- Floral Bush (x2) – At Home 124366249
- 1″ Shabby Silk Ribbon – RK114-61
- Hot glue gun
- Wire cutters
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Prep Your Moss Cross
Start with your moss cross base. This one is pre-covered with moss and ready to go, which saves you so much time and mess. Lay it flat on your table and figure out where you want to build your floral cluster. I like to place mine just below center for a more balanced look.
Step 2: Add Your Greenery Base
Begin with the boxwood bush. Trim it into smaller pieces and glue them down in a fan shape—this sets the foundation and gives you great coverage. Next, go in with your clematis leaves and fern bushes to add depth and texture. Make sure to keep everything flowing in one direction.
Step 3: Add Focal Flowers
Now bring in your hydrangea stem—this is going to be the focal flower. Place it right in the center of your greenery. Then fill in around it using pieces from the ranunculus bush and floral bush. Keep your spacing tight so everything feels full.
Step 4: Shape and Adjust
Don’t be afraid to bend the stems or fluff out the florals so they don’t lay too flat. Play around with height and direction until it looks balanced from all angles. Use hot glue generously but carefully—just enough to hold everything in place without making a mess.
Step 5: Add Ribbon Accent
Cut a strip of your 1″ shabby silk ribbon and make a simple loop or bow. You’re not going for anything too fancy here—just something soft and sweet to tie it all together. Tuck it in on the side or right beneath the hydrangea.
Step 6: Finishing Touches
Step back and check for any holes or gaps. Add in extra sprigs of fern or leaves as needed. Make sure the arrangement looks good from the front and sides.
Tips & Ideas:
- Use zip ties instead of hot glue if you want this to be more durable for outdoor use.
- Change up the color palette for different seasons.
- Add a hanger to the back for easy door display.
