If you’ve ever spent time making bows for a craft show only to have them get crushed in transport or ignored in a cluttered display… this one’s for you. Learn how to package bows!

Let’s talk about a simple, low-cost packaging method that not only protects your bows but also makes them look more valuable—so they can practically sell themselves right off the table.

This tutorial is part of our craft show success series where we cover how to make bows that attract, and now, how to package them for sales.

Why Packaging Matters

Presentation = Perceived Value.

A bow that’s neatly displayed and easy to pick up (without getting smooshed) just feels more high-end. The goal here isn’t just protection—it’s product appeal.

Supplies You’ll Need

  • 9″x12″ Plastic sleeve
  • Hole punch
  • Scissors
  • Small paper tags or price stickers (optional)
  • Pegboard display hooks or baskets for your setup
  • Bows, of course! Already fluffed and ready to go

How to Package Your Bows for Sale

Step 1: Fluff and shape the bow.
Before it goes in the bag, give it a final fluff so it looks perky and ready to use. Pay attention to the loops and tails.

Step 2: Slide the bow into a gallon zip-top bag.
Make sure the bow is facing forward and centered inside the bag so customers can clearly see it.

Step 3: Zip the top most of the way, leaving a tiny opening.
This helps prevent condensation and gives you wiggle room when packaging a bunch.

Step 4: Punch a hole in the top center of the bag.
This makes it easy to hang on a peg hook. You can also clip it to a display basket or stack neatly in bins.

Step 5: Add a label or tag.
Use a sticker or paper tag to add a price, name (e.g., “Patriotic Bow #3”), or size (Small / Medium / Large) if you offer a variety. Optional but helpful.

Bonus Tips for Craft Show Setup

  • Group by theme or color to help customers shop faster.
  • Keep a few unbagged bows nearby so they can touch and feel before buying.
  • Offer a bundle discount for shoppers who buy 3 or more.
  • Use vertical space—hang bows on pegboards, ladders, or grid walls to keep your table from looking crowded.

Make it Easy to Say Yes

Packaging isn’t just about protecting your product—it’s about creating a clean, professional impression that invites customers to pick it up and say “this one.”

And when you pair solid packaging with a well-designed bow (see our Simple Bow for Craft Shows tutorial), your craft show booth becomes a bow magnet.
