Mini wreaths are the perfect project when you want something simple, stylish, and versatile. In this tutorial, Tammy shows you how to create a mini Astilbe wreath using a pre-made grapevine wreath, a rust-colored ribbon, and astilbe stems. It’s quick, budget-friendly, and a great option for gifts, table décor, or small spaces.

Supplies You’ll Need
- Pre-Made Mini Wreath – Hobby Lobby, SKU CMW239
- Rust-Colored Farasilk Ribbon – RV001-34, Decorator Crafts
- Astilbe Stem – Ashland Brand, Michaels, SKU 98973-40862
- Wire Cutters
- Scissors
- Hot Glue Gun (optional for extra hold)
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Start with the Mini Wreath
Use a pre-made grapevine wreath as your base. These are already formed and ready to decorate, making them a perfect shortcut project.
2. Add the Astilbe
Cut apart the astilbe stem into smaller pieces. Tuck them into one side of the wreath to create an asymmetrical design. Secure with hot glue or wedge the stems tightly into the grapevine.
Designer Tip: Keep the stems facing in the same direction for a more natural flow.
3. Make the Bow
Use the rust-colored Farasilk ribbon to create a simple bow. Two to three loops per side is plenty for this smaller wreath size. Secure with floral wire or a pipe cleaner.
4. Attach the Bow
Place the bow at the base of the astilbe stems. Angle the tails so they drape naturally along the wreath.
5. Final Touches
Step back and check your wreath from all angles. Trim ribbon tails and adjust stems until you’re happy with the shape.
