Supplies You’ll Need:

  • 10” wreath form with ties – SKU: CBI
  • Red, white, and blue 6” burlapRecommended: Walmart brand (Craft Outlet’s version is too stiff to work with!)
  • Red velvet star accent – Walmart
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun (optional)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prep Your Wreath Base
Start by fluffing out the ties on your 10-inch wreath form. This will make it easier to work in your burlap evenly.

Step 2: Cut Your Burlap Ribbon
Cut strips of your red, white, and blue burlap into roughly 10–12 inch sections. You’ll want enough to fill the wreath base completely while keeping a consistent pattern.

Step 3: Make Ruffles
To add dimension to your burlap wreath, use the ruffle method. Scrunch the burlap lengthwise down the center and pinch it into a bowtie shape. Then secure it into the ties on your wreath form. Rotate red, white, and blue burlap around the circle to create a balanced patriotic design.

Step 4: Add Your Accent
Use hot glue or zip ties to attach the red velvet star. Center it near the bottom or slightly off to one side for a professional finish.

Step 5: Fluff & Finish
Take a final look and fluff out any squished burlap. Fill in any sparse spots using extra ruffles or tie-ins.

Pro Tips for Success:

  • Avoid stiff burlap—it’s hard to ruffle and doesn’t lay as nicely. Walmart’s 6” burlap is a great option.
  • Keep your ruffles tight and fluffy for maximum volume.
  • Want more flair? Add patriotic ribbon tails or mini flag picks.

There you have it! A festive, eye-catching patriotic burlap wreath perfect for celebrating America’s favorite summer holidays. The rustic burlap, bold colors, and velvet star create the perfect combo of classic and charming. Whether you hang it on your front door or gift it to a neighbor, this patriotic wreath is sure to impress.
