Fall arrangements are a classic way to bring warmth and seasonal charm into any home. In this tutorial, Jordan shows us how to make a fall arrangement using greenery, poppies, cattails, and two coordinating ribbons. This design is quick, budget-friendly, and versatile. You can display it on a table, use it as a centerpiece, or sell it at a craft show.

Supplies You’ll Need
All supplies are from DecoExchange unless otherwise noted:
- 2 Greenery Bushes – SKU 58512
- 1 Poppy Cattail Bush (Cream) – SKU 40375-CR
- 1 Poppy Cattail Bush (Brown) – SKU 40375-BRN
- 1.5” Leaf Ribbon – SKU 61514-09-38
- 2.5” Pumpkin Ribbon – SKU 61512-40-35
- Wire Cutters
- Hot Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
- Zip Ties
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prep Your Greenery Base
Fluff out your greenery bushes to give them a fuller look. Place them together to form the base of your arrangement. Secure with wire or zip ties.
2. Add the Poppy Cattail Bushes
Cut the stems apart from both the cream and brown poppy cattail bushes. Insert them into the greenery base, mixing the colors so they blend naturally. Use hot glue to secure if needed.
3. Layer in Height and Texture
Place the taller cattail stems toward the back or center of the arrangement. Fan out shorter stems and poppies toward the front to add depth and dimension.
4. Make the Bow
- Use the leaf ribbon (1.5”) and the pumpkin ribbon (2.5”) to create a layered bow.
- Make 2–3 loops per ribbon for fullness.
- Secure with a zip tie or floral wire.
5. Attach the Bow
Position the bow slightly off-center in the arrangement. Allow the ribbon tails to cascade down for movement.
6. Finishing Touches
Step back and look at your arrangement from all angles. Adjust greenery, florals, or ribbon until the design looks balanced. Trim any excess stems.
Coach Jordan’s Design Tips
- Mix Textures: Pairing soft greenery with structured cattails gives your arrangement interest.
- Balance Colors: Spread the cream and brown poppies evenly so one side doesn’t feel heavy.
- Think Seasonal: Swap the ribbon for Christmas or spring designs to reuse the same base!

Why This Arrangement Works
This fall floral design is easy to make, affordable, and versatile. It’s the kind of arrangement that works on entryway tables, dining tables, or craft show booths. The mix of poppies, cattails, and pumpkins feels seasonal without being overwhelming, making it a great piece for fall sales or gifting.
