How To Make Your Heart Wreath Bows

Use these step-by-step instructions to put your bows together. The first bow will be the biggest. The second bow will follow the process of the first bow but have smaller measurements.

Step 1

Take your EZ Bow Maker and your 2.5” red and white ribbon and make a 8” loop with 12” tails.

Step 2

Grab your 2.5” light blue ribbon and make two 8” loops with 12” tails.

Step 3

Using the dark blue 2.5” ribbon, make a slightly smaller loop and 12” tails.

Step 4

With a yellow and white plaid 2.5” ribbon, make two 7” loops and 12” tails.

Step 5

Grab the 1.5” black and white pawprints ribbon and make a slightly smaller loop and 12” tails.

Step 6

With the second 1.5” ribbon (red gingham), make two 6” loops and 12” tails.

Step 7

Use the yellow 1.5” ribbon to make a slightly smaller loop with 12” tails.

Step 8

Use the puzzle piece 1.5” ribbon to make two 5” loops with 12” tails.

Step 9

Using the black and white 1.5” pawprints ribbon, make a slightly smaller center loop with 12” tails.

Step 10

Attach 2 pipe cleaners together because your bow is thick! Carefully pull your bow off the EZ Bow Maker and use a pipe cleaner to secure your bow by twisting the bow for a tighter twist.

Bow #2

For the second bow, start with using your 2.5” ribbon to make 6” loop and 8” tails.

  1. Take your next ribbon and follow the same process.
  2. Keep doing through the order of the ribbons making X’s with your loops and tails.
  3. With your final ribbon (the paw prints ribbon), make a center loop with 2 tails.
  4. You will have 8 ribbons total in this bow. Attach 2 pipe cleaners together to make them longer.
  5. Carefully pull the bow off your EZ Bow Maker and secure it with your pipe cleaners.
  6. Dovetail the ends of your tails.

How To Make A Puzzle Piece Heart Wreath With Ribbon

Follow these steps to make your own heart wreath for Autism awareness to hang on your door or sell!

Step 1

Take the blue mesh and make 6 poofs going around the frame to cover up the evergreen. Make sure your poof heights are about the same all the way around. Cut the mesh.

Step 2

Take the yellow mesh and make 6 poofs going around the outside of the frame to cover up the evergreen. Make sure your poof heights are about the same all the way around. Cut the mesh.

Step 3

Use the yellow mesh to make poofs in the center of the frame so that you can’t see any evergreen base. Cut the mesh.

Step 4

Prepare to attach your heart sign by cutting out small squares of craft foam and stacking them 2-thick. Take one pipe cleaner for each stack of craft foam squares and staple the pipe cleaners (and squares) to the sign. Double check the front of the sign to make sure your staples didn’t poke through.

Do this 3 times total (2 across the top and 1 at the bottom of the sign).

Step 5

Attach your heart sign to your wreath with the pipe cleaners you just added to the back of the sign.

Step 6

Use the pipe cleaners on the bow to attach the first (bigger) bow to the wreath down towards the bottom of the heart and off to the side.

Step 7

Attach your smaller bow to the top left section of your wreath using the pipe cleaner you used to secure your bow.

Step 8

Clean up the tails by dovetailing the ends. Then, fluff out the bows.

Step 9

Using your ribbon tail boards, measure out 10 tails with two different 1.5” ribbons and one 2.5” ribbon. Cut the tails and dovetail the ends, then stack them (one of each ribbon type), pinch them in the middle and attach them to your wreath at the twists that you already have.

Repeat the process with the rest of your tail stacks going around the outside of your wreath.

Step 10

Fluff out and arrange your ribbons and trim up any tails that you want.
