Hey, y’all! It’s Coach Stacy, and today, we’re giving a basic dollar store flower pot a total glow-up! If you’ve ever walked through the floral section of a dollar store and thought, “This could be cute… if it had a little more life,” then you’re in the right place.
I’m going to show you how to take a pre-made arrangement from the dollar store and turn it into something actually gorgeous—with just a few simple upgrades. And y’all, this is EASY. If you can use hot glue, you can do this.
Let’s get started!

Supplies You’ll Need
Here’s what we’re working with today:
- Pre-made flower pot arrangement (dollar store find!)
- Ceramic flower pot (also from the dollar store)
- Blue Baby’s Breath 60919 – FH812571 (x3 stems)
- Half of a green fern bush – BG10303GR
- Hot glue

That’s it! Just a few florals, a little greenery, and some hot glue, and we’re about to give this arrangement a total makeover.
Upgrading Your Dollar Store Arrangement
1. Start with Your Pre-Made Arrangement
Alright, so straight out of the store, these dollar store floral arrangements aren’t terrible, but they’re usually missing something—mainly fullness and texture. We’re going to fix that!
Take your pre-made flower pot and carefully pull the arrangement out of the plastic container. Don’t worry about keeping it perfect—we’re about to rebuild it into something way better.
2. Upgrade the Flower Pot
If you want a high-end look, ditch that plastic pot it came in and swap it for a ceramic one. Dollar stores usually have simple, neutral-colored ceramic pots, and that alone makes a big difference.
Pop your floral foam (which is already inside the arrangement) into your new pot. If needed, add a little hot glue to secure it so it stays put.
3. Add Some Texture with Greenery
Now, let’s bring in some greenery to soften things up. I’m using half of a green fern bush because it adds movement and makes the arrangement look more natural.
Trim your fern into smaller sections, and start tucking them around the edges of your arrangement. This helps fill in any gaps and gives it a fuller, more polished look. A little hot glue will keep everything in place!
4. Bring in the Blue Baby’s Breath
Alright, y’all—this is where the magic happens. These Blue Baby 60919 stems are what take this arrangement from dollar store basic to high-end custom design.
Take your three stems and cut them into smaller sections. Start placing them throughout the arrangement, making sure to spread them evenly so you get pops of blue all around. This gives it dimension and makes the whole thing feel more balanced.
A little hot glue on the ends will keep them secure, but y’all, don’t overthink this—just tuck and place until you love how it looks!
