How to Make 3 Valentine’s Day Wreath Bows

As usual, we are going to start big! The first bow we’ll show you how to make uses 16″ ribbon and plenty of loops. Next up we have a slightly smaller bow with an 8″ tail. Then, we’ll round it out with a Terri bow with three layers of tails!

You could make different wreaths with each of these bows, but where’s the fun in that? We’ll show you how to make all three bows on one stunning wreath. Don’t forget to go shop and have fun choosing coordinating ribbon too!

Of course, we put together a video for you all! 🙂 Watch below, then follow the three instruction cards to learn exactly how to put these beautiful bows together.

Valentine’s Day Wreath Bow #1

Yield: 1 bow

Instructions

  • Let's start with 16 inches for the tail using 2.5" wired ribbon and then make an 8-inch loop on each side. We're going big on this one y'all, and end with another 16-inch tail.
  • We're going to add one more 16-inch strip. Just a tail in here.
  • Now we'll do our 4 loops with the 1.5" wired ribbon. The loops are going to be slightly smaller.
  • Next, 2 loops of 1.5" wired ribbon, one loop on each side, slightly smaller.
  • For this one, I just want an extra 16-inch tail of 5/8" ribbon. This time I'm going to put opposite from the other tail that we did. All right y'all. So if you've been making bows, with an easy bow maker and you've been getting that weird gap in the top center, just add an extra tail in there.
  • Let's do our double (4 loops, 2 on each side) using 5/8" ribbon.
  • Then 2 loops with another 5/8" ribbon.
  • Now we're going to end it with one loop from the black and white and red.
  • Get some pipe cleaners, twist these together. Y'all, I didn't want those hearts to be upside
down. Get it nice and tight and twist it off.

  • So we're going to start using a 2.5" wired ribbon making an 8-inch tail on the bottom right and do one loop at about 7-inches, because that's where the loop falls on the bottom left. Do another loop on the top right, and end with a tail on the top left.
  • With your 1.5" wired ribbon, start with an 8-inch tail on the top right, and make a loop slightly smaller than the previous one on the top left. Make another loop on the bottom right, and end with a tail on the bottom left.
  • With another 1.5" wired ribbon, start with an 8-inch tail on the bottom right, and make a loop slightly smaller than the previous one on the bottom left. Make another loop on the top right, and end with a tail on the top left.
  • With your 5/8" ribbon, start with an 8-inch tail on the top right, and make a loop slightly smaller than the previous one on the top left. Make another loop on the bottom right, and end with a tail on the bottom left.
  • With another 5/8" ribbon, start with an 8-inch tail on the bottom right, and make a loop slightly smaller than the previous one on the bottom left. Make another loop on the top right, and end with a tail on the top left.
  • With another 5/8" ribbon, make the tail on the right with a smaller loop than the previous ribbon on the left, and end with the tail on the right.
  • Get some pipe cleaners, twist these together nice and tight.

  • Let's make this a 14-inch tail. So y'all with all of the 2.5" wired ribbon, I'm just gonna put tails (about 3 layers of tails).
  • Now, we're going to make a normal, Terri bow loop. With another 5/8" ribbon, start with an 8-inch tail on the bottom right, and make a loop on the bottom left. Make another loop on the top right, and end with a tail on the top left.
  • With your 5/8" ribbon, start with an 8-inch tail on the top right, and make a loop slightly smaller than the previous one on the top left. Make another loop on the bottom right, and end with a tail on the bottom left.
