DIY Autumn Pumpkin Wreath

This Fall pumpkin wreath is super thin like a pancake. It's perfect for storm or security doors.

Materials

Instructions

Prep your base.

  • Start with a 14” pancake frame base.
  • Take a 10” mesh and cut 12 x 20” pieces.
  • Add 12 pipe cleaners around the frame.
  • Take 6 of the 10” mesh and make ruffles by pinching the ends together.
  • Add the 6 ruffles to the outer ring of the base using the pipe cleaners.
  • Take 2 ribbons and cut 12 pieces of each making ribbon tails.
  • Take one of each ribbon tail and pair them, adding it to the center of a ruffle.
  • Repeat with the remaining ribbon tails.
  • Fluff out the ribbon tails.
  • Dovetail the ends.
  • Take the other 6 of the 10” mesh and make ruffles by pinching the ends together.
  • Add the 6 ruffles to the inner ring of the base using the pipe cleaners.
  • Take 2 ribbons and cut 12 pieces of each making ribbon tails.
  • Take one of each ribbon tail and pair them, adding it to the center of a ruffle.
  • Repeat with the remaining ribbon tails.
  • Trim your pipe cleaners.
  • Fluff out the ribbon tails.
  • Dovetail the ends.

Make your bow.

  • Take 1 ribbon and make a bow with 2 loops.
  • Take 1 ribbon and make a bow with 4 loops.
  • Take 1 ribbon and make a bow with 3 loops.
  • Layer your bows.
  • Secure the bow with a pipe cleaner.
  • Fluff out your bow.
  • Dovetail the ends.

Add in your wooden sign.

  • Take your sign and staple 2 pipe cleaners to the back of it.
  • Add your sign to the top center of the wreath using the pipe cleaners.

Add in your bow.

  • Add your bow below the sign using the pipe cleaner.

Add your wreath hanger.

  • Add a hanger to the back of the wreath using a pipe cleaner.
