Nothing brightens up a doorway like a gorgeous yellow summer wreath! From the flowers to the full bow, this tutorial by Coach Jordan originally aired on the DecoExchange YouTube channel.

Jordan walks you through how to use a grapevine wreath base, faux floral stems, and ribbon to create this sunshiny design.

DIY Yellow Summer Wreath

Hey, y’all. I kind of rummage through a pile of stuff that was sitting off to the left of the table and I came up with a really pretty option to make a wreath today it’s going to be all yellows and greens.

Now the green is just going to be coming from the greenery. But for the most part, it’s going to be all yellow.

Supplies

Equipment

  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Wire cutter

Instructions

Keep in mind with this hand bow your creating from the top to the bottom – from smallest to biggest. If you were using a bow maker tool, you’d start at the biggest and work your way to the smallest.

Measure out a 7″ tail for the bow, then pinch and twist to start your first set of loops.

    • Set 1: 2 loops at 8″ each (1 on each side)
    • Set 2: 4 loops at 9″ each (2 on each side)
    • Set 3: 2 loops at 10″ each (1 on each side)
    • Set 4: 4 loops at 11″ each (2 on each side)
    • Set 5: 2 loops at 12″ each (1 on each side)
  • Create a full 36″ loop to trim later as a long tail.
  • Then trim off the roll, leaving another 7″ tail
  • Secure with a zip tie.
  • Slip a pipe cleaner through the back of the zip tie loop, then attach to grapevine base.
  • Dovetail the the ends of the tails.

Fluff out each stem and pick and then use hot glue to secure to wreath base.

  • Add yellow filler floral picks (SKU 60919) behind the bow.
  • Add yellow bush picks (SKU 62692) behind the bow.
  • Add fern leaves (SKU 43521) to the wreath.
  • Add yellow curly picks (SKU 63007) to the wreath.

Can I pick a different color for this design?

Yes, you can even use purple, lime green, orange, blue, or really any color that you prefer.

What if I make my bow on a EZ Bow Maker

You’d create your bow starting from the back layer to the front. So the largest loops at 12″ moving down to the 8″ loops.
