What is a bow backer?

These are one of DecoExchange’s newest products to make designing fun home decor. You can add a simple bow to the wood cutout or flourish with florals and greenery.

If you have a creative handmade business, this makes for great multiple designs that you can you fill your shop with.

There are holes cut out in the wood sign to make for easy placement of your add-ons.

How to Use a Bow Backer Video Tutorial

Design 1: Valentine’s Day Teddy Bear Bow Backer

Prep your base

  1. Start with a bow backer sign for Valentines Day.
  2. Take 2 small filler flower stem pieces and join them together.
  3. Fluff them out (keeping them aside for now)

Make and add your bow

  1. Take 3 ribbons and make a bow with 2 loops each.
  2. Layer your bows.
  3. Add your bow with the filler flowers to the top right of the sign using a zip tie.
  4. Fluff out your bow.
  5. Dovetail the ends.

Design 2: Valentine’s Card Bow Backer

Prep your base

  1. Start with a bow backer sign for Valentines Day.
  2. Take a small filler flower stem.
  3. Fluff it out (keeping them aside for now)

Make and add your bow

  1. Take 4 ribbons and make a bow with 2 loops each.
  2. Layer your bows.
  3. Add your bow with the filler flower to the bottom left of the sign using a zip tie.
  4. Fluff out your bow.
  5. Dovetail the ends.

Design 3: Santa Bow Backer

Prep your base

  1. Start with a bow becker sign for Christmas Day.
  2. Take a flocked pine cone greenery stem.
  3. Fluff it out (keeping them aside for now)

Make and add your bow

  1. Take 2 ribbons and make a bow with 2 loops each.
  2. Take 1 ribbon and cut a piece.
  3. Take 1 ribbon and make a half bow with 1 loop.
  4. Layer your bows.
  5. Secure your bow with a pipe cleaner.
  6. Add your bow with the flocked pine cone stem to the sign using the pipe cleaner.
  7. Fluff out your bow.
  8. Dovetail the ends.

Yes, you absolutely can turn this into a fun addition to a grapevine or mesh wreath.

Are they full sized door hangers?

No, but if you add a hanger to them, they’d make cute mini door hangers. These would even be cute for kid’s room doors.
