DIY Patriotic Wreath for 4th July and More!

This red, white, and blue grapevine wreath works perfectly for all of those patriotic holidays. You’ll only need these 6 supplies and a some hot glue to create an amazing designer wreath.

Supplies

  • 14″ grapevine wreath
  • Magnolia leaf spray
  • Blue filler flowers
  • Berry bush
  • 2.5″ wired ribbon
  • 1.5″ wired ribbon

Easy Patriotic Wreath for Front Doors

Instructions

Create your bow

  • Using your 1.5" wired ribbon, create a 14" tail.
  • Next make 2 x 10" loops and 2 x 11" loops.
  • Now, take your 2.5" wired ribbon, create a 14" tail.
  • Make 2 slightly larger loops, one on each side.
  • Secure with a zip tie.
  • Attach to the top left hand corner of the grapevine using a zip tie or pipe cleaner.
  • Using your wire cutter, remove excess zip tie tail.
  • Dovetail ends of tails

Add stems, sprays, and picks.

  • Spread out the leaves on your magnolia leaves spray.
  • Trim excess stem.
  • Insert into the grapevine right under the bow. Place one pick on the top side of the bow and two on the bottom of the bow.
  • Secure stems to grapevine with zip ties.
  • Fluff out bow and shape leaves as necessary.
  • Separate blue filler florals for smaller bunches.
  • Fluff out florals curling them up.
  • Trim excess stem and hot glue into grapevine in between the bow and magnolia leaves on each side.
  • You could stop here if your happy with the design.
  • Add additional stems if you want a fuller design.
  • Add additional ribbon tails using your 2 ribbons. Zip tie to grapevine and dovetail ends. It creates an illusion of a larger design.

You absolutely could. You can attach it to the open space on the right of the wreath for an entirely different look.

You’d be surprised how often you can find red, white, and blue supplies on clearance after Christmas. There’s discounted ribbon, florals, and picks that would perfectly in your Patriotic themed designs. Stock up during that time to reduce your supply cost.
