How To Make This Easy Birch Wreath

Something to keep in mind with birch wreath bases is that they are often secured together with nails. Do a quick look over to see where any nails might be sticking out. That’s the area you’re going to want to design over to cover up the eyesore.

Materials Needed

Instructions

Follow these simple instructions and in just a few minutes you’ll have a beautiful wreath to display all spring and summer!

Step 1

Divide your greenery stem into smaller pieces.

Step 2

Trim the longer stems down enough that they will go into the birch wreath base without going sticking out on the other side.

Add 1 stem from one side. Add another stem from the opposite direction.

Step 3

Next, insert 1 stem at an angle between the other two, so that the greenery faces away from the wreath base.

Spread the greenery out to create a full backdrop for the bow. Glue down the stems and let them dry while you create the bow.

Step 4

Using the EZ Bowmaker and the 1.5″ ribbon, start with a longer 9″ tail.

Create (3) 5.5″ loops with one more tail and secure the bow to the wreath with a pipe cleaner.

Fluff out your bow, placing it in the greenery.

Step 5

Next, pull some of the stems from the background and incorporate them into the bow to create one cohesive design.

Curl the ends of each tail and cut the ends at an angle for a professional look.

You’re all done!

FAQs

Here are a few answers to questions I frequently see readers ask to help you out even more!

Can I use different colors and patterns in this design?

Yes! Feel free to copy this design exactly as we made it or get creative and use different colors and textures to create your own unique design.

Here are some ideas:

  • attach small sign
  • attach a faux bird or nest
  • burlap ribbon for a natural look
  • succulents or air plants

Can I use a different type of wood to get the same look?

Birch wreath forms have a unique appearance, so you can’t use another type of frame and get an identical look or feel. However, you can make this basic design on a grapevine wreath frame for a different but equally beautiful rustic vibe.
