Hey, y’all! I’m from Louisiana, and you know what’s big around here…Mardi Gras!

It may surprise you (but doesn’t surprise me) that we sell more Mardi Gras wreaths than any other holiday. They just fly off the shelves, so we love making new designs for this fun, over-the-top celebration.

Make a Mardi Gras Wreath Bow

This bow is something else, y’all! Follow the steps below – and remember that this bow will be very thick.

Step 1

Measure 12-inch tail. Pinch it, give it a twist, and do the same on the other side so that the good side is always what we see. Then, cut the tail.

Step 2

Take your solid purple ribbon. Measure a 12-inch tail with a 4.5 inch loop, pinch, twist, and repeat then cut the tail.

Step 3

Take your polka dot ribbon and measure a 12-inch tail with a 4.5 inch loop, pinch and twist. Repeat and cut the tail.

Step 4

Grab your diamond ribbon and cut a shorter tail for the top of the bow with a 3-inch loop. Pinch it, give it a twist, and repeat the process, then cut the tail.

Step 5

Take your solid green ribbon. Measure a 6-inch tail with a 3 inch loop, pinch, twist, and repeat then cut the tail.

Step 6

Grab your sheer ribbon and cut a 6-inch tail with a 3-inch loop, then pinch it, twist it and repeat before cutting the tail.

Step 7

Cut 12-inch tail strips out of each of the different ribbons and layer them on top of the bow staying in the order that you used the ribbons in the bow, ending the bow with a nice center loop made with the sheer ribbon.

Step 8

Carefully remove the bow (it’s thick!) from the EZ Bow Maker. Take your long pipe cleaner and push down in the middle as tight as you can while twisting the bow (not the pipe cleaner).

Your bow is complete!

Put Your Mardi Gras Fleur De Lis Grapevine Wreath Together

Now that your bow is complete, the rest is a piece of cake! Follow these steps to assemble your wreath.

Step 1

Add pipe cleaners to your Fleur De Lis by attaching a spike to your pipe cleaner in the middle, folding it in half. Then, poke it into your Fleur De Lis.

Hot glue it in place.

Step 2

Once the glue is dry, take your grapevine wreath and attach the Fleur De Lis.

Step 3

Now, attach the bow by inserting the pipe cleaner through your grapevine and twisting it off.

Step 4

Dove tail the tails of your bow. Fluff your bow, and you are done!

Doesn’t it look amazing? I love how fun and festive Mardi Gras wreaths look. You can do this same design for every single season or holiday!
