Follow along with this tutorial from Coach Mel to learn how to make your own Valentine’s Day pink and white mesh flower wreath using a UITC flower board. This easy wreath-making technique is unique and will stand out among the sea of flower wreaths.

Hey, y’all! About a year ago, I started learning a new wreath-making technique (yep, even the pros have new things to learn!). It involved taking a UITC flower board and using deco mesh to create a flower design – specifically, a magnolia flower.

And you wouldn’t believe how quickly it caught people’s eyes. Ok, maybe you would because this technique creates an eye-catching design unlike others you see on the market.

Create Your Very Own Pink and White Mesh Valentine Flower Wreath

Our customers and readers all loved them! This technique immediately took off, and it gained so much popularity that we created several tutorials with only slight differences.

If you love this design, be sure also to check out the design that started it all: our DIY White Magnolia Wreath.

From there, we created a Red Magnolia Flower Wreath, Pink and White Magnolia Wreath, and a Turquoise Magnolia Wreath.

Today, Coach Mel is here showing us how to use that same basic design idea, but she’s moving away from a magnolia-specific design to one that’s more like a daisy.

This Valentine’s Day pink and white mesh flower wreath will be a hit for three reasons. First, it looks incredible on the front door as well as inside on a wall. Second, it’s versatile and will complement any other Valentine’s Day decor. And third, it’s eye-catching and different from typical Valentine’s Day decor!

Say hello to your new Valentine’s Day wreath project: the pink and white mesh flower wreath!

How To Make A Deco Mesh Flower Wreath

This Valentine’s Day flower deco mesh wreath design comes together quickly, so it’s perfect to make multiples to fill up your inventory.

Supplies Needed

Valentine’s Day Mesh Flower Wreath Instructions

Follow along as I guide you step-by-step through the process of making this beautiful pink and white mesh flower wreath!

Note: I use the wood burning tool to cut the poly burlap mesh and seal the edges so that it doesn’t fray.

Step 1

Start by cutting (8) 11” strips of each of the poly burlap meshes with your wood-burning tool.

Step 2

Next, need to prepare the UITC board by inserting zip ties into the pairs of holes all the way around the board. Skip the outermost row of holes because we are making a slightly smaller design and don’t need zip ties there.

Add four extra zip ties in the innermost ring.

Close the zip ties but don’t tighten them. We want to leave them loose so we can add our mesh to them easily.

Step 3

Let’s make the dark pink petals first. Take a strip of dark pink mesh and fold it corner to corner to create a triangle. Since the strips aren’t perfectly square, you’ll have a little extra on each side. That’s ok.

Scrunch the middle of the triangle into the center, then fold in the middle so that the ends come together side by side. Add this mesh petal to a zip tie on the outside ring of the UITC flower board. Pull the zip tie tight.

Remember to cut off your excess zip ties as you go through the process of making your magnolia door wreath.

Repeat all the way around the board.

Step 4

Follow the same petal-making process with the light pink mesh strips. Add these petals to the zip ties on the middle row of the UITC board. Pull the zip ties tight and cut off the excess.

Repeat all the way around the board.

Step 5

Follow the same petal-making process with the white mesh strips. Add these petals to the zip ties in the innermost row of the UITC board. I find it easier to add them to every other zip tie first and then fill in the gaps.

Note: You’ll notice that the center gets bulky as you finish adding in petals. Just do the best you can.

Pull the zip ties tight and cut off the excess. Repeat all the way around the board.

Step 6

Grab the Dollar Tree circle disk, the glitter rope, and the hot glue gun. Coil the glitter rope and use the hot glue gun to add it to the disk.

Once you cover the front of the disk, bring the glitter rope down the side of the disk too.

When you reach the end. Cut the glitter rope, leaving a little extra length (about 2 inches).

Step 7

Now take three metal u-pins and use wire cutters to shorten the ends if needed. Add hot glue to the ends before inserting them.

Insert the first u-pin into the disk to hold your glitter rope in place.

Use the other two u-pins to attach pipe cleaners to the back of the disks.

Step 8

Attach the disk to the center of your flower mesh wreath by pushing the pipe cleaners you just attached through the holes of the UITC board. Twist the pipe cleaners together on the back of the board to secure the disk in place. Cut off any excess from the pipe cleaners.

Step 9

Take a 3rd pipe cleaner and insert it into the two holes at the top of the board to create a hanger. Twist to secure and cut off any extra.

Your pink and white mesh flower wreath is now complete and ready to adorn anyone’s door for Valentine’s Day. If you haven’t begun making Valentine’s Day inventory items yet, now’s the time to switch over and begin those projects.
