We’re welcoming Coach Mel back to show us an incredible spring wreath design you do not want to miss! This cheery grapevine spring tulips wreath will make the perfect addition to your front door or spring inventory.

Hey, y’all! Today we are sharing another great spring wreath design to help you get your spring inventory stocked and ready to sell. And we are lucky enough to have Coach Mel here to show you how to do it!

As a Maker, it’s essential to have your online store filled with spring designs BEFORE the forsythia bushes bloom and the crocuses and tulips start popping up out of the ground. That way, you maximize your sales potential.

Pro Tip: Keep in mind that various parts of the country will have different spring arrival times. While the south may see spring start “springing” in early March, some areas in the north may not see those early flower buds until late April.

That’s why I recommend following our tested and true Craft Calendar to help you plan your production schedule and stay ahead of your customer’s buying habits – no matter WHAT part of the country they live in!

This design differs from our previous tulip wreath and gives off gorgeous spring vibes! And customers LOVE tulip wreaths, so that automatically makes this tulip wreath DIY project a winner.

How To Make A Tulip Wreath On A Grapevine Base

Okay, who’s ready to make a gorgeous spring-themed wreath in under 30 minutes? Every Maker needs a few quick and easy designs they can turn to when time runs short.

Follow along to learn everything you need to know to make this design yourself.

Supplies Needed For This Tulips Wreath Design

Here’s what you’ll need to make this beautiful and cheery wreath. I’ve included some helpful links to make it easier to find items you may not have.

DIY Spring Tulips Wreath Instructions

We challenged Coach Mel to create a spring wreath design in under 30 minutes, and she delivered! Follow this step-by-step tutorial to check it out and try it yourself!

Step 1

Begin by checking your grapevine wreath base to ensure there aren’t any twigs or sticks poking out that might scratch your customer’s door. If you see any, cut them off.

Step 2

Now, begin adding your white floral stems to the base. These pretty little white flowers will act as your filler and hide a lot of your grapevine base while providing a backdrop for your tulips to shine.

Dip each stem into hot glue, then slide the stem into the grapevine base.

Tip: Slide all the stems into the base from the same direction to provide a uniform-looking base.

Step 3

Next, take your tulip bushes in the first color you want to use. Use a stem cutter to cut the smaller stems of blooms off of the main stem.

Continue dipping each stem into hot glue before inserting it into the grapevine and working around the wreath.

Tip: I recommend adding each additional set of florals into the gaps in your design to ensure you end up with a full and gorgeous final wreath.

Step 4

Now take your second color of tulips and follow the same process.

Step 5

And repeat the same process one more time with the third color of tulip stems, balancing out the colors and filling in any open gaps as you work your way around the frame.

Now, you could truly stop here and have a beautiful wreath to hang or sell in about 15 minutes. But we’re going to add a little more.

Step 6

Use bolt cutters to cut the smaller stems off the main eucalyptus stem. Dip each stem into the hot glue and add them into the design sporadically, anywhere you see open spots. This greenery makes an excellent filler!

Step 7

Y’all, this design sells just as well with or without the bow, but here’s how to make the ideal bow embellishment for this wreath of tulips.

Take your 1.5” ribbon and measure out a 9” tail. Pinch the ribbon at that mark and hold it in your non-dominant hand as you use your dominant hand to make loops.

Start by making (2) 4” loops, then pinch, twist, and create (2) 5” loops behind the first two loops. Pinch, twist, and then make (2) 6” loops behind the second layer of loops.

Now create the final layer for the bow on your spring tulips wreath. Pinch and twist the ribbon and make (2) 7” loops. Cut your tail at 9”.

Wrap a pipe cleaner around the center and twist the bow to tighten it. Use the pipe cleaner to attach the bow to the wreath on the left side of the design. Dovetail the ribbon ends and spread out the loops and tails to make the bow look full and beautiful.

Try Making Spring Tulips Wreaths Yourself!

You’re done! I love mixing different colors of the same types of florals together to create more design depth when possible.

In this design, Coach Mel used a lot of yellow, light orange, and pink tulips. If you love this design but envision it with different colors, try it! I encourage you to personalize this idea by changing the colors of the florals, the type of greenery, or the ribbon you use. You could even use different kinds of flowers!
