Ladybug Wreath Tutorial: How to Make A Patriotic Ladybug Wreath For Your Door
Use these step-by-step instructions to put this project together. If you follow along with these directions, you’ll have this project completed in just a few minutes!
Step 1
Check your grapevine base and trim off any excess pieces you don’t want. Then, zip tie the ladybug to the bottom right side of the grapevine base.
Step 2
Take your red floral picks and cut the flower stems off the main pick stem. Insert the picks into the grapevine wreath on the left side of the wreath base. Spread out the stems and shape them to give depth and dimension to the design.
Secure each stem with a dab of hot glue.
Step 3
Take your EZ Bow Maker and your first 3” ribbon. Make (2) 7” loops with 17” tails in an “X” shape. Repeat this same process with your first 2.5” ribbon, making sure to offset this “X” with the loops and tails of the first ribbon.
Step 4
Grab your first 1.5” ribbon and make (2) 6.5” loops with 17” tails in the same “X” pattern. Repeat the process with your second 1.5” ribbon, making sure to offset this “X” with the one below it.
Step 5
Take your second 2.5” ribbon and make (2) 6” loops with 17” tails in the “X” pattern. Repeat the same process with your third 1.5” ribbon and offset this “X” with the previous one.
Step 6
Use your 4th 1.5” ribbon and repeat the same process, but make your loops slightly smaller (about 5.5”). Then, take your ½” ribbon and do the same thing.
Step 7
Take your final 1.5” ribbon and create a 5” center loop with tails.
Step 8
Take 2 pipe cleaners and attach them at their ends so that you have one extra long pipe cleaner. Carefully pull your bow off the EZ Bow Maker and wrap the pipe cleaner around the middle of the bow to hold it together. Give a tight twist to secure it.
Step 9
Use the same extra long pipe cleaner to attach the bow to your grapevine frame among the floral stems. Fluff out the loops and tails of your bow and dovetail the ribbon tails.
Step 10
Grab your white floral sprays and cut the floral stems off the main pick stem. Take each stem individually, add a dab of hot glue to the end, and insert it into the grapevine base with the other florals and around the bow to add pops of white color.
Step 11
Repeat the same process with your blue floral pick sprays and then again with the yellow floral sprays. Make sure to spread out the florals to give them dimension.
And, that’s it! The process is very simple, and the end result will liven up any door with patriotic colors and ladybug decor!
