There’s no need to spend your money paying top dollar on your supplies. Here’s a fun Dollar Tree Halloween wreath design that uses budget-friendly supplies from the dollar store!

Hey, y’all! I often have readers ask me where I get inspiration for my wreath designs.

The answer is that I get it anywhere and everywhere! But, as today’s wreath design shows, I can get fantastic inspiration (and supplies) from the dollar store to make a beautiful wreath.

Sure, sometimes you must strategically choose to spend more on certain supplies to achieve the look you want. Some examples include our Halloween Jack-O-Lantern Wreath, Punny Deco Mesh Halloween Wreath, and Happy Halloween Mesh Wreath designs.

How to Make a Dollar Tree Halloween Wreath

But, there are other times when inexpensive supplies can be just as (or even more) effective for keeping expenses in check and still delivering an amazing wreath.

Today’s Dollar Tree Halloween wreath is one of them!

I found a Frankenstein garden stake at the dollar store and knew I wanted to use that as a sign for my next Halloween wreath project. So, without further adieu, let’s get started on this Halloween wreath design!

How To Make A Halloween Wreath From The Dollar Store

Follow along with how we make this wreath to learn how you can save time and still make original designs you can sell.

Supplies Needed

Grapevine wreath form
(2) 2.5” ribbon
(2) 1.5” ribbon
Halloween greenery and leaves (dyed black)
Frankenstein sign (I used a garden stake and clipped off the stem)
Pipe cleaners
Scissors
Staple gun
Hot glue gun and hot glue
Bolt cutters
EZ Bow Maker

Halloween Wreath Instructions

Here’s how I created a fun and simple wreath around a simple item from the dollar store.

Step 1

Start by inspecting your grapevine wreath form and cutting off any obvious stems that poke out too far.

Step 2

Let’s prepare our garden stake to attach to the wreath like a sign. If you haven’t done so, clip off the stem that would go into the ground. Next, we need to attach pipe cleaners so we can use them to asecurethe sign to the wreath.

There are two different approaches you can take. First, if there are loops on the back of your sign, you can insert pipe cleaners into them.

Or, you can hot glue mounting squares on the back of your sign and insert pipe cleaners into them.

Step 3

Let’s make a simple and fun bow!

Next, take your EZ Bow Maker and your first 2.5” ribbon. Measure out a 12” tail (pointed down toward the bottom of the bow), a 6.5” loop, and an 8” tail (pointed toward the top of the bow).

Take your second 2.5” ribbon and repeat the process. Make sure to position the loop on the other side of the bow.

Repeat the process with your first 1.5” ribbon, making this loop 6”.

Take your second 1.5” ribbon and follow the same process, sending the loop to the other side of the bow.

Make one final loop (5.5″) with your last 1.5” ribbon. This will be your center loop.

Twist two pipe cleaners together to create one double-length pipe cleaner. Carefully remove your bow from the EZ Bow Maker as you wrap your long pipe cleaner around the center of your bow. Give your bow a good twist to tighten the pipe cleaner and secure your bow.

Using the same pipe cleaner, attach the bow to the bottom of the wreath. Fluff out the bow and trim the ends in a dovetail shape.

Step 4

Take your Halloween greenery and your bolt cutters and cut the smaller stems of leaves off of the large main stem to separate them.

Grab the smaller stems, add a dab of hot glue to the ends, and insert them one by one into the grapevine wreath frame behind the bow. That way, they’ll stick out from the bow and add some fun texture to the wreath!

This bow is complete, y’all! Simple designs are just as beautiful and popular as more intricate designs.
